1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
1 medium onion, diced
1 small or 1/2 large green pepper diced
1 1# can diced tomatoes
1 1# can chili beans (Brooks Hot Chili beans are my favorite)
1 small can tomato paste
1/2 cup red wine
1 pkg chili seasoning mix
1 tblsp chili powder
Mix everything together in the crockpot and cook on low 6 or more hours.
This is really good with some cheese stirred in just before serving and a
dab of sour cream on top.
---------------------
2 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped green pepper
1 c. sliced celery
2 (15 oz.) chili beans or kidney
2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes, cut up
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
2 cloves garlic, minced
1-2 tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. salt
In Dutch oven cook beef, onion, green pepper, and celery until meat is brown and vegetables are tender. Drain. Drain chili beans or kidney beans. Add beans and remaining ingredients. Cover; simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Makes 8 servings.
-----------------------
1 onion, chopped
1/2 green pepper, chopped
2 lbs. ground beef
1 can tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 can kidney beans
1 1/3 c. water
1 pkg. chili mix
Brown meat with onion and green pepper. Drain any grease. Add tomatoes, sauce, and 1 cup water. Simmer 10 minutes. Add large spice packet of chili mix. Add cayenne pepper as taste desires - it is really hot! Heat to a boil and then simmer for 45 minutes.
Mix white masa flour (found in packet) with 1/3 cup water and stir into chili. Add kidney beans. Let chili simmer about 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
