1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup chopped pecans
whipped topping or sweetened whipped cream, optional
Preheat oven to 350°. Heat oil and unsweetened chocolate in an 8-inch square baking pan in oven until chocolate is melted, about 3 to 4 minutes. Add water, sugar, egg, flour, salt, baking soda, and vanilla.
Using a fork, beat until smooth and creamy, about 1 minute. Scrape pan with rubber spatula and spread batter evenly in the pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and chopped pecans. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a wooden pick or cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool and serve as is or with whipped topping, if desired.

1-Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)
2-Melt chocolate :
3-Once water is boiling, remove pan from heat, cut chocolate bar into two or three, then put in boiling water. Wait a few minutes, adding water if necessary, once the chocolate melts, you should have a smooth paste.
4-Quickly add the butter and stir until melted.
5-Add the flour and sugar.
6-Break the eggs and separate yolks from whites.
7-Add yolks to pan.
8-Grease and flour a cake tin big enough for about eight people.
9-Beat egg whites until stiff and white.
10-Carefully stir egg whites into mixture.
11-Pour mixture into cake tin.
12-Cook in oven for 40 minutes.
13-Check cooked with blade of knife - cake is ready once knife come out clean.
14-Serve, slice banana for decoration.
Leave your cake to cool before decorating.
Make a rich icing by melting rest of chocolate, adding a tablespoon of icing sugar and a tablespoon of crème fraîche, then ice cake and chill.
An hour later, decorate with chopped banana and strawberried.
