2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 (2-pound) can sliced peaches with juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 cup water
1 cup milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Combine 2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine, spices, and sliced peaches with juice. Stir cornstarch and water together; mix into peach mixture.
In another bowl, mix together milk, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt; mixture will be thin.
Melt 1/2 cup butter or margarine in 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Pour batter over melted butter.
Spoon peaches over batter.
Mix together the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over top.
Bake at 350*F (175*C) for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until golden brown.

1/2 tsp. salt
1 large can peaches (28 ounces)
1 tsp. vanilla
Melt butter in deep casserole. (I have used a 9x12 as well)
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add vanilla and milk. Pour batter over melted butter;then add peaches, juice and all. Bake 1 hour in 350 degree oven. Serves 4-6. Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream add a special touch. Note: other fruit can be used as well.
